yes that was GPS speed.
Legs were "up 1 second" - no tabs.

The Four Winns data, which I believe is a light ship condition of 2 POB, 50% fuel and little or no water - shows 30mph.
I'm getting 27mph at 3500 with 4 POB, 66% fuel and 100kg water - so probably quite close.
She was within 2 mph of the Four Winns Vmax WOT data.

When heavy I need to use a bit of tab when cruising below 3900.

Have you ever tried trimming up bit by bit and watching how your rpm's and speed change, going as far as you can without porpoising or losing speed... I am always playing around like that... Partly because I can't sit still.

Also, have you considered a fuel flow monitor? You seem like the type of guy who would take pleasure in having setup like that. I will be installing one come spring to work in conjunction with my plotter... I have wanted to do this some time now.

yeah - I have a few Merc System Monitor in my Ebay watch list. Or perhaps Smartcraft. Once boat I looked at had Navionics fuel transducers - another option I think.
I want to do some long range holiday cruising so the FF meter is certainly on my list.

What setup are you looking at?

I am going with a Lowrance fuel flow monitor that connects directly to my chart plotter.

does that require a fuel flow meter on the fuel line?
