I regularly put in multiples of 20 litre Jerry cans of petrol into out 245 Sundowners' tank, the filler on the non pontoon side ( our Marina doesn't sell petrol (gas), just cheap diesel !) I use a plastic syphon pump with something like a 1" pickup tube., it takes less than a minute to get 20 litres in. You just need to be sure the pickup pipe is higher than the outlet. I can count the spills over the last 12 years when I remove the filler tube in drops. ! I'm on the second one in 12 years of using them.

Thanks for the pump idea I'm going to use a drill powered pump as I/m at the dock

You might not need to light a dart if you use an electric drill powered pump with arcing brushes near those fuel fumes!

OMG! You think Ground fault interupter will prevent the arcing between the brushes and the commutator?
In many drills, you can see the arcing through the air vents (or in your case...fuel fume vents). Ground fault system only works after a short to ground to prevent dangerous shock to user. Arcing at the brushes is not a ground fault.

Do not use an electric drill around fuel fumes! End of story.

Oh brother. I feel a Darwin award about to be given, should anybody use an electric drill around gas fumes!!!!! Hope I'm not around because Im not catching any body parts.

Anyways, to fuel my boat I use this:

or when I dont need to put in 25 gallons, I just use plastic 5/6 gallon gas cans and this:

The siphon can be bought at Harbor Freight for cheap but I don't think its anti-static hose version and I'm not taking chances.

Humpty Shuman gassed up a boat, humpty shuman used a drill motor pump in gloat. When the sparks ignited the gas, Humpty Shuman blew up his a**, and had to be put back together again! (literally!)
