Anyone in the Lake Lanier area that has looked at this 2009 358 Vista? I'm in Ohio, looking for some info on this boat before flying down to Georgia to trial it. Looks very loaded, is this a good price? http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2009- ... ?zmc=cfem1 |

That boat looks to be a fantastic price.... I wonder if they can do any better since that is a posted price... The only 2 things that aren't clear that I think that boat should have... 1) bow thruster 2) We LOVE our swim platform rail system... Other than that -- looks great! Man - I'd love to jump on that... shipping and sales tax would add another 30k to that price for me! WOW. |

A friend of mine was liking at that boat. But he found a better deal in Pittsburgh. On a 2008 358 Vista. If he didn't find that one. He probably would have gotten the one in GA. |

Hi, thats a great price on that 358. Crusader engines are a pretty expensive option, but people really love them. The one that was in pittsburgh was also a 2008, without some of the options. I am kinda looking for a 358 with volvo penta sterndrives. Take care, Joe. |

Looks good, same sort of price i paid for my 2008 last year, i personnal like the Volve stern drives, they give much better fuel eco, i rum at 25Kts and burn 22 Gallons per hour (US) also they leave some room in the engine room. but good price i guess the only question is what happens in Dec to the Chapter 11 and warrentys. Mine should now have left the US on her trailer in a RORO heading to the UK and than Portugal. Cheers SJ |

I need to stop looking at this thread. My 298 suddenly feels very small and these current prices are amazing. |

Given the current state of boat sales I would expect screaming deals. That really doesn't seem like that screaming of a deal. I bought a 2007 358 in 2007 and paid $176k, the boat I bought had several options not on this boat including Raymarine E-80 electronics w/sirius weather, flexiteek swim platform, stainless windshield header. Though it was two model years ago I'd expect that prices should have gone down from that point, not up. Ben |

Liquefied wrote: Crusader engines?? Never heard of these, any good???? They're the power plant used for inboard props. I've got them in my 2005 and they've been great. A sterndrive boat is going to get slightly better performance and fuel consumption. But then you trade out the largely worry-free nature of inboards for the maintenance requirements of I/Os. It's sort of like a Ford vs Chevy (or whatever brands you like) argument, one isn't 'better' than the other, they each have their trade-offs. I've suffered enough with leaking bellows and wrecked gymbals to NEVER want to have them again. |

Ben wrote: Given the current state of boat sales I would expect screaming deals. The "screaming deals" are all but done now. Most dealers and builders have sold off their excess inventory, and are left with many fewer boats than 6 months ago , when those type of deals were more prevalent. The boats they have left, still have room for negotiation, but not like earlier this year. The best deals that are left out there, will be Re-Po boats, or a private seller that lost his job and wants to get out from under his loan before it goes into collection. There are still some deals available, you just have to look harder, and sharpen your pencil when you find the one you want. |

+1 to what Capn said. If you see a boat out there now that you want, go after it full speed ahead! They aren't making them like they used to. All the good ones are just about gone. |

That's still a great deal but as others have said, the prices are definitely rebounding from what they were in the spring / early summer. I bet they still have some room since it's a posted figure. If you can stand to play the waiting game I'm sure they will have somewhat significantly better incentives to move it in the spring when it's a true leftover. I didn't see if it has the stainless header but if you're dropping that kind of coin trust me you should have it. It really looks classy and will continue to over time. Puts a smile on my face every time I take off the cover. |
