Good news! I have a 1998 258 Vista and I just got off the waiting list and into a slip at a marina on the Columbia River. The boat has always been stored on a trailer and it has no bottom paint. I am need advise and recommendations on what is the best bottom paint to use; how to apply it, especially under the bunks; what about the outdrive; etc. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank you.

They just painted mine with Interlux VC 17. I have been told that you should use a barrier coat, but when the FW dealer did mine, they said that they didnt' need to do that. I am by no means an expert. It's supposed to be the best out there as long as the water isn't brackish.

I did VC 17 without a barrier layer as well. I am in Lake MI and I was tired of using acid on the hull every year. I have had it for 2 seasons, and I love it. Just pull the boat out and power wash. I used a gallon and a quarter to paint my 248 Vista. Get 2 gallons because you might need to touch up a few places the next year. I didn't notice any additional drag, and my MPG stayed about the same.
