Hello All,

I'm having an issue with my fuel tank an would like your opinion. When I get near an 1/8 of a tank I fill up. I can only get about 32 gallons in it before she throws up on me. I've waited a while to let it burp but it's full at that point on only 32 gallons. It's a 64 gallon tank, is it not? The fuel gauge agrees that it's full so I assume that it is. It does not sound like the issue some have had with the tank shifting and pinching the refill line. Do you think it may be falsely reading empty? What's the best way to manually check the fuel level?

Thanks.

Don't know about 2000, but from 2004 on the 230/240 has a 58 gallon tank.

It is a 65 gallon tank. Are you sure the gauge is not bad and the tank is full? Mine does not spit back like other boats I have had. My cruiser was HORRIBLE and did this every time.

If you lift the carpet you will see one of those round deck fitting about 6" round. Open up the fitting and you will see the insertion point of the sending unit. Remove the screws and you can see the fuel in the tank. This will require a gasket or some sort of sealant though. Your other otion is to pull back the carpet and remove the center panel of the floor which will reveal the complete top of the fuel tank. You should be able to get a good idea of how much fuel is in it because you will be able to see the ends. You could have a wrong range on the sending unit arm too. If you want it really accurate you may have to remove the sending unit and extend the wire Arm with the float so that it is about 1/8 up from the bottom of the tank. I suspect your sending unit has been changed to an incorrect model that was for a smaller tank.

Thanks folks. I'll give it a look this weekend. If I remember right, I can see the tank from inside the engine well. Maybe I can slosh it around and get some kind of visual.
