Ok, I am enjoying spending some non water time working on the boat in the off season. Its therapy for me since we are not on the water.

So far this winter, I have added a second battery with a Perko switch, added an iPod controller to my Sony head unit, and added LED's. I have my stereo pretty well planned out, but I wont be getting it handled for another few weeks.

What else should I do?

How about remote controlled lights? Engine compartment lights? Lighted cupholders? A battery monitor?

Remote controlled lights - not really interested

Engine compartment lights - considering it

Lighted cupholders - I am too cheap to pay the price for them

Battery monitor - considering it

Thanks for the ideas Walt.

You could do what I have done. Sit in the drivers seat and make motor sounds while pretending to cruise on the lake.......

I already do that, except I grab a beer and turn on my iPod.

Well, there's always the mod to fix the flapping sections of the snap down carpet. I think the addition of two snaps ought to take care of it. Four might be better.

If you beach your boat on sand at all - think about a keel guard.

For the price, its well worth it! Takes about an afternoon to install also.

I've always added a transom trailer tilt switch. I used the factory Merc switch on my VP powered boat. Cost around $45 i think...and takes about 10 minutes to install.

Check out the nice, stainless tilt buttons that FW uses on the SL's. that would be a slick upgrade.

I may actually wire mine to my keyless remote. This way I don't need to add anything to the exterior.
