You might not be interested, but if you're replacing horns this may be worth a look:

Scroll down to Flying Sushi's post of 7/14/09 @ 12:06pm. That's where the details start getting specific.

Mike, I tried to find that horn everywhere back then. Both on-line and on the West Coast. If you find a place I can get it, let me know. Seems to me I even tried with the different #'s Sushi had and still had no luck.....

If I had to pick a weak point on the boat, I would ask FW's why would you install a horn that no one can hear????

OK, I pulled my receipt. Mine ended up coming from Carquest Auto Parts of Cadillac, MI. They shipped it UPS. Phone 231-775-9772. Their part #SGT 72223. Price $38.43 (over 2 years ago).

If the part is still available, I would think any Carquest ought to be able to order it (but maybe not).

I would say the dual is a definite improvement - but it still just sounds like a better car horn. :P Without a place to mount real horns, I'm not sure there's a better option. The thought crossed my mind of getting two of the dual sets, and mounting one of them on the starboard side so at least all the sound wouldn't be coming from one side of the boat, but then I laid down until it went away.

The reason your Fiamm horn was easily obtainable in Cadillac, MI. is because the manufacturing plant is there, that is why Four Winns uses their horns, since they are less than 2 miles apart. Carquest in Cadillac can just pick up the parts down the street from the Fiamm plant.

Thanks Cap'n, I thought it might be more than a coincidence that they were both in Cadillac.

You gotta remember that Four Winns makes the hull, but rarely did they ever make any of the bits and pieces that bolt on to it. Just search the part #s on the horn itself, not four winns #s, you'll find it's just a generic part and can be replaced by any similar generic part.

90% of my 2000 H180 is Attwood, the other 10% is Taylormade. I noticed though they are really starting to get "custom" with their hardware on the new models. In house seats, steering wheels, gauges, doors, latches, windows, windshields, etc. I think that's why a bunch of you guys are hot and cold on the new Four Winns designs. On every brand boat from early 2000's and older they were all the same using all the same parts, just in a different order. Now, the familiar stuff we've all seen for the last 20 years is going away for more automotive like designs were each model is custom, instead of just being floating parts bins from a marine catalog.

Thanks Mike & Cap'n! I'll give them a call and see if I can't order and have them shipped to me. I can't even hear my horn, especially if I'm running with the exhaust opened up. At an idle, I've heard farts louder than the horn.....
