So while boating in Pigeon Lake today in Ontario, I left the sand bank, and was in about 3.5m of water when the boat lurched. I bent two blades on the inner 3 blade prop. Made it back to the boat launch, but now I have to pull the props and get them straightened. Anyone have this happen yet?

I need the prop tool, and I guess I should get two spare props for situations like this.

I did pop my lock "cherry". We went through the locks at Bobcaygeon from Sturgeon lake to Pigeon lake. It was already late, otherwise we would have done some more of the Trent Severn

Good call. I switched to Geico and they cover everything including engine/drive mechanicals.

The Volvo DP props have to be removed at least once a season to grease the splines, if not they can be hard to get off. I use OMC/Bombardier triple guard grease which is a great water proof grease that holds up well to salt water. I ran over a piece of wood and totaled an aluminum prop with my old 88 10 years ago. I try to stay out of shallow areas we have a lot of rocks on the North Shore of Long Island, the South Shore is all sand.

Give Martin at Port Whitby Marine Supplies a call,,,905-668-4077. He can get yours fixed and in most case will match competitors prices on new ones

It goes with the territory of being a boater and like my daddy says, "If you step out in the rain, you are going to get wet". Be sure to get your tech to check the sleeve(?) that shears off to protect the outdrive.

OMG, that price! and that's for just one right?
I am used to single prop drives with an alu prop. $140 for a brand new one. Of course they get trashed much more easily than SS.

Not that familiar with dp's,but may be worth getting the splines inspected to make sure not bent or twisted....I assume a new bushing will come withe the prop rebuild....sorry for your probs, but should be easy fix.

Yep! I feel for you.... We have done that..... We backed in to a rock when 1st year I got our 260..... Got prop repaired and balanced.
Few weeks later I hit a shoal and cost us (Insurance Company) $7800 repair drive..... We really christened a new boat..... Now I have a few pairs of F6s just in case..
I would recommend to check shaft since they do not take much to bend..... If you just hit the front prop (larger one) then you should be ok but just in case...
