Hi -

Looking for someone who has experience around Monomoy Island on the Cape.

I know the currents/rips can be severe around there, but am wondering specifically about the inside (west side) of South island -- is it possible to approach from the west, toward the southern end of South island, and beach the boat there, or anchor off and walk in (watching the tides and weather, of course)?

Is there any other/better place to approach the beach in the area?

Also, as long as I stay in the channels, is it resonably safe to boat around to the ocean side (so the kids can see the seals, etc)?

You hear so much about the rips and how dangerous they can be, but as long as the weather is stable, is it safe in a 21 foot Sundowner?

Thanks for any local knowledge you can share.
