Thanks on the graphics comment. I do get a lot of comments everywhere I go. It's funny that a LOT of people know this boat in Grand Haven. The previous owner sure got around with it. Anyway, the 6.2 did concern me as well until I took it for a ride. It's more then adequate for my type of boating. I can hit 55 on GPS, which isn't too bad. The boat does have a really nice prop which was cut down a little and the cupping was modified. The receipt of that job was in the boat and it was nearly a $1,000 project. So maybe the better performance then I expected is the result of that prop? It also has a K&N air filter that probably helps a little. Overall, I have been really happy with it. The best part of that boat is how well it handles the waves compared to my 210. It's like night and day and can use it in nearly any wind conditions on Lake Michigan. I had to be much more selective on my previous 2 boats.

Thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated. So many people have been saying not to consider a small block in a 26' boat but I don't need to go 60mph with a 2 year old kid (yet). How many blade prop do you have and I assume it is a bravo 1? How many hours on your boat?

4 blade prop. Yeah, I have a four year old, so 60+ mph isn't anything I really need to be tempted to do either.

I think he just bought the boat last summer, probably unlikely , depending on how soon you mean by the "near future "

Sorry, I'm going to hang on to her for a little while longer. However, I'm sure I will be in the market for a Vista in a couple of years.

Thanks for all the great and quick feedback. I do feel much better now. I had no idea oil pressure could drop so low and not necessarily be an issue. I will change my oil and filter ASAP and will run straight 30 or 40 weight oil going forward. I can only assume that there is currently some thinner oil in it now, and as long as I avoid any 5,000 RPM runs tomorrow night, I should be ok. I'll just watch the gauge like a hawk.

Well I'm too late to respond for your "tomorrow night" trip, but..

I was going to suggest that you add a quart of straight 50weight (or as much as you can fit without overfilling), to bump your viscosity up a little until you can do your oil change.

This is a 2001 with 350 hours. 6.2 MPI, bravo 1, 4 blade prop, cockpit cover, and matching trailer. He's asking 29k which I know is high. What would be a fair offer based on your experience with your 2003 260?

Well, I believe I ended up paying $36k for mine. I know I overpaid according to the blue book, but finding a clean, low hour Powerquest is becoming harder and harder, so I was willing to pay a premium to call her mine. I don't regret it for a minute. If you search this forum, look up the string entitled "Berger....moving up?" It chronicals my search for a Powerquest last year. I'd just attach the link, but I'm on my phone and can't figure it out :).

Did you ever find out what the problem was?
