2007 H220 5.7 PV. My 1984 SeaRay 197 of 32 years finally bit the dust, but it's engine compartment was so much quieter (It had carpet, wood, and some true insulation at front). the FW has LOTS more hard finish and high square-footage in the Engine compartment, and some fairly open side channels funneling sound forward. Love the boat, but dang it's loud (comparatively speaking) emulating from the engine compartment.

I would like to attempt to suppress/absorb the noise as much as possible with some insulation over the winter. Looking for recommendations of a good soundproofing material to line the internal engine compartment (as much as I can get to) with something to absorb the sound. And the answer maybe a matrix of material based on location (dynamat type in molded curved areas, etc.), Some thicker in larger flat areas, maybe. A small rubber seal around engine cover, etc. Perfect will not get in my way, but will sweat to do what I can. Thanks!
