Ok so silly question here but where on the engine would I find the model number of the engine? Interesting day on the boat today ... after having some problems that seem to be fuel related recently at high rpms, I spent some time down at the marina checking a few things .. anti siphon valve, gas tank vent, cleaned the flame arrestor. Anyway I had looked at fuel pumps online to see what a new one would go for and while doing research I got a pretty good idea what a replacement one would look like. Now my flame arrestor cover says that I have a 5.7 GSi engine .. so these are the fuel pumps I was looking for. The fuel pump I have looks nothing like that, and as I spent time looking around online .. my engine appears to match up more with the pictures of the 5.7 GS engine (which is 30 hp less). If it is the 5.7 GS, this would explain why I was so far off from the performance I was expecting. The performance I've been getting isn't exactly the same as the manufacturer's specs .. but it is much closer than what a GSi engine should be putting out.

I would think all the relevant data would be somewhere on the engine cover. Mine is shown as an example (ignore the yellow arrow).

Thanks, yeah the cover said 5.7 GSi but for some reason it didn't appear to be set up as a GSi and thought it might have been the wrong cover, but I just went down and checked on my way home from work and found the sticker on the engine indicating it is a GSi.
